About
Serving the Wiregrass and Fort Rucker since 1960.
Prince of Peace Lutheran Church was founded in 1960. Since then, it has been welcoming individuals from all walks of life to serve Christ and the community by deepening their faith.
Blessed with God’s Grace
At the heart of what we believe in is the conviction that salvation is a free gift of God’s grace for Christ’s sake alone. His grace is universal and embraces all people.
In Large Catechism (1539), Luther says, “God forgives our sins, altogether freely, out of pure grace.”
According to the Scriptures, it is only through faith that sinful human beings can appropriate grace.
Baptism
We believe that Baptism has God’s command and promise. As Luther said, baptism is “The Word of God in water.” Apart from any human initiative, God’s action in baptism creates and bestows the gift of faith through which the Christian lays hold of God’s grace.
The True Body and Blood of Christ
Our church also believes that the bread and the wine in the Lord’s Supper are the true body and blood of Christ. Although, we do not presume to understand how this takes place. We confess that in, with, and under the earthly elements, God gives the true body and blood of Christ for the forgiveness of sins.
Salvation
Simply stated, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church believes, teaches, and confesses that salvation is in Christ alone--by grace, faith, and Scripture alone. To share this message with the world is the mission and reason for the existence of the church.
